Olympics Dwarf Leabank Square

How about these pics for a different perspective of the Olympic construction site across the river?!

Every day we see the buildings going up higher - but take a few steps backwards - & get to the same height as the Broadcast Centre - and you see just how dinky Leabank Square actually is -compared to that monstrosity!!!

This shows just how imperative it is that we fight any move to build on the land directly opposite us!

  1. OMG its only when you look at it from afar that you fully realize its sheer ugliness! I hope the architect is proud of dropping this huge turd on Hackney Wick!

  2. Sona, we shoulda fought harder to get a better cladding on that monstrocity. It looks as bad as we all thought it would. Hackney Wick definetly got the cheapest buildings on the whole olympic park. Sort of 'those oiks in Hackney Wick don't deserve any money spent on them' - while Stratford & Greenwich got all the best architects!

  3. A truly fitting memorial in spirit to the very recently late Juan Antonio Samaranch, "mastermind of the Olympics in the professional era".

  4. I agree Owen - except I would have loved this truly ugly building to have been dropped on Salt Lake City - rather than the Wick.
Been a bit more fitting somehow - nothing against the Salt Lakers - just don't want it here 'sall.

  9. Thanks for the update. Isn't it just typical of them to just keep repeating the same old rubbish all the time as if we will eventually succumb and say - you're right, we deserve to have our day of rest distruptive, you have every right to make noise as loud as you wish on a Sunday.

Just who did he think he was - David Blane?!

  11. And where is Hackney Council in all this?! Shouldn't they be checking up on all the noise we're being bombarded with? And this on my sunday? Shona please call that kavuma geezer and get HC to withdraw sunday permissions.

  12. Sona, don't forget our useless MP in all thia as well. Her ID card crusaid ties her hands away from actively repping us against these noisy neighbours, so we are doubly screwed.
Know where my votes going next week.

  13. Cheers for the update. If they weren't sposed to be cutting steel high up, why did the lackey who came to see if there was any noise in LS, not say anything?
Bloody typical of this bunch of losers man. Community relations my arse!

  15. The problem is, you've all been led up the garden path by the hippy and his corporate backer, and I don't mean the ODA, I mean his well-heeled mate in South Africa.

  16. O here we go again.

Here we go ‘round the mulberry bush
The mulberry bush, the mulberry bush
Here we go ‘round the mulberry bush
    So early in the morning

Is this the oda, construction companies, the monitor bunch, zuma's bunch, a wine swigging wannabe leftie, 'Hugh Lugg' - you know what? Who cares?

Shona, I don't even think you should post this rubbish up anymore. This anon probably gets such a thrill seeing their crap on our blog, and I personally don't think you should let them.
