The Big Cuppa

Most of us have met Alan Piggott from St Mary of Eton church in the Eastway - and we all agree on him being a solid rock in Hackney Wicks community!

Well...... he has some amazing plans to show us all! I have been lucky enough to have had a sneaky preview of the regeneration project for the church & everything around it - and it looks incredible! This will really start to transform the Wick in so many positive ways!

Alan has invited us all to the church for 'The Big Cuppa' tea or coffee - and to have a long look at the plans - and a chance to talk to the architect as well!

If you Love Leabank Square - then you love Hackney Wick. If you love Hackney Wick - you are gonna fall head over heels in love with this project - as it will bring that village feeling back into the Wick - that has been missing for a while!

Please come along to the church this Thursday - between 6.30 & 8.30 pm - and be amazed!

Dog Poo in Leabank Square

We all heard about the little girl who contracted Toxocariasis earlier this year. She picked it up while playing on the Leabank Square Green from falling into some dog poo and rubbing her eye while crying.

This is a very serious disease - and as such - the dog poo situation in Leabank Square should be treated very seriously!

We all love our pets - and look after them with all the love & care they deserve. But when they poo in the common areas of Leabank Square - please clean up after them.

The family in question moved out very soon after this incident - but as a result of the Management Company having to sort out the insurance - we have all been asked to keep a look out for any dogs that foul in Leabank Square.

We know that none of the residents of Leabank Square would do this to little children who love playing in Leabank Square - but please be on the look-out for any visitors with dogs who foul our lovely square. You are absolutely entitled to take a picture of the offending dog owners. Please could you email the pics (with any supporting information) to http://www.pmms.org.uk/ (our square's management company) - and they will start the prosecution.

They have assured us that we can do this anonymously - and that they will act immediately on this information.

Come on Leabank Square - do this before another child gets very seriously ill!!

Good Luck Lucy!!

We have all been loving Lucy's garden up near the entrance to Leabank Square every year - but THIS year...........

Lucy got judged by the Hackney in Bloom judges - and we are all convinced that Lucy has got to get some kind of medal!!

Lucy - and your whole amazing family - good luck for the competition! We are all rooting for you!

Register as a donor Online!

Transplants save lives!

I know this is never a cheery subject to bring up. But let's just say you get hit by the 276 outside Leabank Square. Wouldn't you want to go, happy in the knowledge that someone, somewhere would be benefiting from some of your organs?

Every year the lives of thousands of people are saved or transformed through organ transplantation. By joining the NHS Organ Donor Register you can help increase this number.

I know this isn't for everyone in Leabank Square, but think it over for a few days. If your loved one was dying, and could be saved through someone else having given this all a thought - wouldn't you be the happiest resident of Leabank Square?

For more info on how to register as a donor online - please see: http://www.uktransplant.org.uk/ukt/default.jsp
