Bake something for a neighbour.

Ready, steady, give.

Here’s a sure fire way to make more friends in Leabank Square:

Gingerbread People.

110g of softened butter
110g of sugar
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tablespoons of golden syrup
220g of plain flour
2 teaspoons of baking soda
¼ teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of ground ginger

Heat oven to 180°C.
Cream the butter & sugar.
Beat in the egg & syrup.
Sift in the dry ingredients & mix.
Chill the dough before rolling onto a lightly floured board – to 5ml thickness.
Cut into shapes of people.
Bake on a lightly greased tray for 8-10 minutes.

Then knock on anyone in Leabank Square’s door – and give them a delicious surprise.
